I began to develop a passion for antiques and interiors at the age of 12, when every saturday I would help a family friend who was an antique dealer. This is when I began collecting and studying the field of antiques. As a young teenager my interest widened into interiors and decorating and it became a consuming hobby. At the age of 15 during the evenings and weekends, I began a year's apprenticeship in floristry and at 16 years of age I ignited my passion further by accepting a position with Alan Ward of Shrewsbury Luxury Furnishers. During my time there I studied Furnishings and Visual Merchandising. My passion for interiors then lead me into a ten year career in Estate Agency and later as a Property and Fine Art Auctioneer.
In 2010 I completed a City & Guilds in Interior Design and Furniture restoration & upholstery. Since then I have been dealing, restoring and designing bespoke furniture whilst setting up Home by James which is an accumulation of the above mentioned skills & passions.
